I'm Jackie, a self-taught artist living in Worcestershire, specialising in pet portraits and wildlife art. I have painted all my life, mainly animals and wildlife, working primarily in soft pastels on velour and Pastelmat. My aim is to produce realistic, lifelike drawings and paintings, with attention to detail a main priority - to capture the personality of each individual animal. I work from photographs, my own where possible.
Ive recently discovered the art of coloured pencils and have started to produce a few portraits using this medium. Its a very different technique, and much slower, but the results are amazing, much more detail is possible, its almost like drawing every single hair!

I l ove to paint wildlife, particularly big cats. For me, its the detail of the fur, and the glint of the eyes to create a realistic, believable painting. I spend many hours on the finer details, hoping to create a realistic painting, where the animal comes alive

Drawing a treasured pet is a priviledge, particularly if the pet is no longer with us, a pet portrait is a special and deeply personal gift and I take every care to capture the essence of the pet, to bring the painting to life

Ive re-produced some of my favourite paintings as Greetings Cards. They can be bought singly, or as a pack of 6 wildlife cards.
All are printed on smooth 300gsm card and are wrapped in biodegradeable cellophane, including a white envelope
