A lot has happened since I last wrote here just over a year ago. The pandemic hit everyone hard. Personally, I have gone from working in an office full time 5 days a week, to now working from home, just going in to the office now and again.
The lockdown did offer many of us artists a silver lining though. With extra time on my hands, for me in the evenings due to working during the day, I had more time to paint, and produced quite a bit of work over the last year, some were commissions, others my own originals.
I had previously worked hard on producing work to exhibit at TWASI (The Wildlife Artist Society Inetrnational) in May 2020, which of course was unfortunately cancelled. I was so excited when TWASI 2021 went ahead earlier this year. It was an amazing experience, I met some wonderful people and was hugely inspired and came away with lots of ideas for the future.
Ive recently undertaken an overhaul of my website. Re-launched this week, it is now faster and slicker, with extra content and also my first online shop! There is information on here about how to book a commission with me, either for a pet portrait or wildlife piece. My galleries show recent and older work of my pet portrait commissions, and also wildlife paintings. Though when you scan the whole page of thumbnails it seems to have a bias towards tigers! They’re my obsession. If I cant decide what to paint, I always have tigers standing by!
Since the TWASI exhibition in May, I have also been involved with a local Pop-Up-Gallery for 10 days in Redditch’s Kingfisher shopping centre. It was with ‘Arts In Redditch’, a local charity in which I am involved. Local artists were invited to display their work in a vacant store. All work was for sale and we did very well for the charity. All funds received go back into helping the local arts in the area.
